Annual Gala Raises Funds for Patient Satisfaction

A record turnout at Rush Oak Park Hospital's Medical Staff Gala helped to raise nearly $70,000 to enhance the patient and visitor experience.

Oak Park, IL (March 15, 2012) — Thanks to the generous donations of physicians, vendors and hospital system leaders, Rush Oak Park Hospital’s 2012 Medical Staff Gala raised nearly $70,000 for the remodeling of the family waiting area for the Intensive Care and Telemetry units.

Enhancements will include the additions of an online resource library, a flat screen TV, sleeper chairs and a coffee bar. The goal is to increase patient and visitor satisfaction by creating a more comfortable space for families and visitors whose loved ones receive medical care on the fifth floor.

“Each of us is dedicated to delivering our patients the best medical care possible,” said Rush Oak Park Hospital Medical Staff President David Kracker, MD. “A hospital environment in which patients and their families feel safe and comfortable helps to increase their satisfaction with the care they receive.”

Dr. Kracker was joined Saturday, March 10 by a record turnout of physicians, hospital leaders and guests at this year’s gala celebration at the University Club of Chicago.
