Oak Park, IL (October 24, 2014) —
Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH) was featured in an eight-page pullout special section of the Wednesday Journal this week. The section, which features the remarkable story of Oak Park resident Chris Grubert and his recovery from a major heart attack, ran in weekly newspapers in Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Riverside and Brookfield.
Grubert's heart stopped beating during a jog one evening last summer. Because of the collaborative care he received from Rush Oak Park Hospital, Grubert is on the road to a full recovery.
"It means a lot that these people helped save my life," he said. "I realize it was routine and part of their jobs for most of them, but they're all good people. I'm grateful to be alive. If it wasn't for all of them I wouldn't be here."
Also featured in the special section is Rush Oak Park Hospital's radiation therapy center as well as its hematology-oncology clinic. Stories in the section also include a profile of Chicago Bulls Team Physician and Chair of Surgery at ROPH Brian Cole, and Dr. Annabelle Volgman, a cardiologist at ROPH.
