ROPH receives high marks from ratings website

Oak Park, IL (June 1, 2015) -

Rush Oak Park Hospital recently received an overall score of B+ from, a website that rates hospital efficiency based on data from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Unlike the CMS where ratings are based on several hospital services, focuses on three efficiency benchmarks: the hospital’s emergency room, patient satisfaction, and in-patient cost efficiency. 

Among other U.S. hospitals, ROPH ranked in the 61st percentile on efficiency score, according to

Bolstered by its 96th percentile in admitted patient flow, ROPH’s Emergency Department was assessed as an “area of strength” in the report.

“Being gaged at such a high standard for our operational performance, and subsequently assessed with a positive overall rating is something all ROPH employees should be proud of,” said Bruce Elegant, president and CEO of the hospital. “Such evaluations aid us in solidifying our strengths and addressing our weaknesses.”

The B+ score ROPH received from comes on the heels of the hospital receiving a 4-star rating by patients based on data from CMS’ ongoing Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, also known as HCAHPS.
