A free mammogram could save your life
During the month of October, women who live in Oak Park, River Forest or Proviso Township can receive a mammogram for no cost at Rush Oak Park Hospital.*
Breast cancer is the second-most frequently diagnosed cancer in women — and mammography is the most effective screening tool. Experts at Rush recommend that most women have mammograms every year beginning at age 40. We offer the latest technology in breast screening, including 3-D mammography, also known as breast tomosynthesis.
Proof of residence will be requested at the time of your visit (e.g., voter registration card, utility bill or personal check). Your mammogram must be performed by Oct. 31, 2017.
* Funds are provided by a private grant for residents of these three communities.

In addition to the Breast Imaging Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital works closely with Rush University Medical Center to deliver a full range of breast cancer treatment services to the community. The Rush Radiation Center at ROPH is modeled after the Rush radiation oncology program, with the same physicians, the same external beam radiation technologies and the same treatment processes. Rush colleagues review each patient’s treatment plan, and patients can transfer seamlessly between the two facilities. In addition, ROPH has a team of renowned hematology-oncology physicians — including breast cancer specialists — from Rush who have offices and an infusion center for chemotherapy next to the hospital.
Our clinical partnership with Rush University Medical Center also means our patients have seamless access to all the advanced subspecialty services of a renowned teaching and research hospital. That includes breast reconstruction surgery, genetic testing and counseling, and cancer therapies available only through clinical trials. Our shared physicians, technologies, communications and electronic medical record system make it easy for ROPH patients to obtain any special services they may need at the Medical Center — while continuing their treatment plan close to home.
