Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Rush Oak Park Hospital is a therapeutic outpatient program designed to help people with chronic lung disease regain strength and endurance — so they are better able to participate in the activities of daily living.
With a 10- to 12-week regimen of exercise, education, counseling and support, the program can benefit people with a wide variety of conditions, including chronic bronchitis, COPD, emphysema, obstructive sleep apnea, pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer, lung transplant and restrictive diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis and interstitial lung disease.
Our team of compassionate, skilled pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, dietitians and social workers work together to assess each patient’s needs and design a personalized treatment plan.
Throughout your rehabilitation, you will receive vital support not only from our team, but from the other patients who are going through the program with you. It’s a nurturing community that can help you reach your personal goals and build lasting friendships.
You must have a referral to participate in pulmonary rehabilitation.
If you and your doctor agree that you would benefit from this program, your doctor can refer you electronically by placing an order through the Epic electronic medical record system. Once you have a referral, please call (708) 660-LUNG (5864) to schedule an appointment.
